Week of December 11

Can you believe it snowed last week?!? We enjoyed making snow angels and having a snowball fight. This was a perfect segway into introducing our activity to design 3D snowflakes. Look for more information to come. December is flying by quickly! Only 2 weeks till our Christmas holiday. If you have not already sent in your child's $2 for the Christmas party, please do this right away :) Our Christmas party will be December 22nd at 8:30am.

We throughly enjoyed the Hour of Code this week, a global computer science event involving tens of millions of students in 180+ countries! Students were able to earn a certificate to share in the success of this activity. Watch this video to see more about what your child has been practicing this week. Click here to go to the website and have your child show you what they've learned. You'll be amazed and blown away!

This week in...

The next two weeks we will be diving into fractions. As a refresher parents, please watch these videos with your child and talk about the information in them. Click here for vocabulary flashcards of words your child should know for this unit.

Looking for fractions in your home and at the stores you visit can bring up some great conversations helping your child achieve better success during the learning process, so keep those eyes peeled for fractions!

Math Learning Goals:
  • Below is a presentation we will be working through during the fractions learning process. It describe our learning goals and shows practice problems we'll be solving throughout the week. Feel free to check back to see the information the students add to it.
